Selling Your Home During The Holidays

We want to share that your house can look awesome during the holidays. Typically, your house looks amazing because you've decorated it. It's warmer, it has a feel to it that only the holidays bring, and we wanted to talk to you about why it's still okay to sell your house during the holidays, and why it can actually benefit your home.

We would say we get two questions when we’re out and about. I know we're all socially distanced and stuff now, but say we're in line at Starbucks and that kind of thing. First question we get all the time is, how's the market? But the second question we get is, when is the right time to sell? We would say anytime in our market. What happens is, people buy homes every single month. Most people are shocked that, if I take a multi-year average and say, what is the best months? What are the months that we sell the most number of homes? Those two months are actually March and November. Can you believe that?

A lot of times people say, "You know what? It's a hassle. You know what? My house is decorated. You know what? I go Christmas crazy. You can't even see my house when I get out all of my decorations." But the truth is, are people looking for a house, or are they looking for a home? A home. They want to feel at home. People need to move every month, so the answer is... When is the best time to list my house? The answer is, when it's the best time for you. If that happens to be this time of year, do it; we'll guide you. What we're seeing, even now, we have almost a lineup of buyers and we have nothing to sell. It's a huge bidding war, and that's good, in a sense, for sellers, but it's been really hard for buyers, but it's proof that seasons are subjective. Right now, could be the absolute best time to sell your house because you have nobody to compete with. You're still going to get top dollar because you have a lineup of buyers that want your product.
